The Man Beside Me

“The Man Beside Me” reflects the duality of operating as a close protection officer or bodyguard inside high-risk environments where professionalism and controlled violence exist side by side beneath the same appearance.

 The suited figure represents diplomacy, restraint and public presence. The armed figure beside him represents the operational reality hidden underneath, the part that remains controlled, silent and disciplined until the environment changes and immediate action becomes necessary.

In unstable regions, appearance often becomes part of survival itself. One side of the individual speaks calmly inside embassies, hotels and official meetings while the other remains mentally prepared for escalation, extraction or confrontation at any moment.

The painting reflects the understanding that both figures are not separate people. They are the same individual functioning in different operational states depending on what the situation demands.

Created on canvas using acrylic paint applied with a Versace tie, a clip from my tactical belt, my Glock holster, an embassy coffee cup and my combat knife. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas to give the art a soul.
