“PTSD Distributor” reflects my rejection of the automatic assumption that everyone who worked inside war or crisis must be psychologically broken afterwards. Conflict became part of my operational reality long ago. My frame of reference adapted naturally to environments most people only see through headlines or screens.

This painting represents acceptance instead of collapse. The understanding that exposure changes you but does not automatically destroy you. Returning to normal society simply means returning with different priorities, different reactions and less tolerance for superficial noise.

There is a difference between trauma and adaptation. Especially when you were not only inside the storm, but you became the distributor of that storm...

Created on canvas using acrylic paint applied with a Glock magazine, a compass, a combat knife and a combination of sand and gravel collected from multiple crisis regions and from the Netherlands itself. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas to give it a soul.
