No Regrets
An original acrylic painting inspired by the operational reality of working as a high-risk security contractor, where moving towards instability is often part of the mission. The objective is never the danger itself. The objective lies inside the places where danger already exists. Sometimes that means arriving at exactly the wrong place at exactly the right moment.
The painting explores the thin line between professional commitment and chance. Operational work is built on preparation, discipline and calculated decision-making, yet no amount of experience can eliminate coincidence. A single moment, a single explosion or a single bullet can become the price paid for a path that was chosen consciously. Not because of recklessness, but because the mission required being there. There are no regrets, only the acceptance that bad luck is sometimes inseparable from the profession.
Rather than depicting a specific event, the painting reflects the psychological acceptance that every contractor eventually develops: understanding the risks, accepting the consequences and continuing regardless. It is about responsibility, commitment and the quiet awareness that not every outcome can be controlled.
This work was created using acrylic paint applied with a combat knife and real operational materials to create its texture and atmosphere. These materials are physically integrated into the painting process, allowing lived experience to become part of the canvas itself. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas. To give it the soul it deserves.
