Hunters Of Men
Hunters Of Men
“Hunters Of Men” reflects a real operational moment during an action in Afghanistan where movement, timing and intent mattered more than words. Unlike many other works, this painting carries little symbolism. It is closer to a memory frozen in motion — a visual fragment of pursuit, pressure and controlled violence inside an environment where hesitation could become fatal.
The laser lines cutting through the image represent focus, identification and commitment once uncertainty disappears and action begins. The figures are not presented as heroes. They are operators functioning inside a reality most people only know through screens, reports or distance.
There is an old understanding among operators that those who once hunted men never completely stop. Part of the mindset remains active long after the operation ends. The environment leaves, but the awareness stays.
The work captures the atmosphere surrounding direct action operations where instinct, coordination and silence become more important than language itself.
Created on canvas using acrylic paint applied with pieces of clothing worn during the operation itself, Kalashnikov rounds fired in our direction and paint dabbed using tactical gloves. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas to give the art a soul.
