Have Gun Will Travel
Have Gun Will Travel
“Have Gun Will Travel” reflects the old generation of mercenaries and operators who moved from conflict to conflict long before the profession received modern corporate titles and sanitized language. Back then the meaning was direct. If the weapon was present, the man behind it would follow.
The phrase became a silent advertisement understood only by certain circles. No explanations, no online profiles, no public recognition. Just a message that someone with the required mindset and experience was available to enter places where normal structures had already failed.
Today the terminology changed into “high-risk security contractor,” “operator” or simply “contractor,” but the core remained identical. Different equipment, different paperwork, different politics, but still the same type of individual standing between instability and survival. Men who accepted movement, danger and uncertainty not as temporary hardship, but as their natural environment.
This painting reflects that mentality. The understanding that some people never truly belonged to one country, one office or one predictable life. The road simply changed names over the years while the man walking it stayed the same.
Created on canvas using acrylic paint applied with a Glock holster, a Glock magazine, the clip from my backpack and the cover of my diplomatic passport. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas to give the art a soul.
Dimensions 40 X 50 cm on canvas
