Exchanging Souls – Autobiography | Paperback | Peter J. Mars

In the Wake of a Promise

An autobiographical novel based on personal experiences.

A man leaves out of conviction for a conflict greater than himself. No heroism, only a decision that feels inevitable. A woman remains behind with letters that are full at first, then shorter, until mostly blank space remains. Years later, a name is deliberately searched for in an archive, a date carefully traced in a military report, a trail followed that is too consistent to be dismissed as coincidence. What follows is not mysticism, but a restrained examination of memory, loyalty, and identity.

In a sober, casually poetic tone, this novel reveals how past and present become intertwined. No explanations that resolve everything. Only the recognition that some stories continue to breathe forever.
