Blind Eye

"Blind Eye" Symbolizing the thin line between lawful and necessary disappears faster than most people think.

This painting reflects the psychological grey zone surrounding mercenary work, high-risk security contracting and operational advisory roles inside unstable environments. The figure is not presented as a soldier, police officer or civilian. He exists somewhere between all three. 

In these environments, decisions are rarely clean. Rules exist on paper while reality moves faster underneath them. The mission becomes a balance between restraint and outcome, between procedure and survival, between what should happen and what eventually has to happen to keep people alive.

The crossed eyes represent more than death or anonymity. They symbolize selective blindness, the ability to look away from certain things long enough to complete an objective. Not because someone enjoys it, but because prolonged exposure to operational environments slowly changes the way morality is processed under pressure.

Rather than portraying combat directly, the work captures the emotional separation that develops when a person operates too long inside environments where legality, necessity and survival no longer fully align.Created on canvas using acrylic paint applied with a combat knife, an axe and local newspaper taken from the environment itself. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself behind in the canvas to give it a soul.
