Blind Eye

“Blind Eye” symbolizes the thin line between what is legitimate and what becomes necessary. That line often blurs faster than most people realize.

This painting reflects the psychological gray area characteristic of the work of mercenary work, High-Risk Security Contractors, and operational advisors in unstable environments. The figure is not depicted as military, police officer, or civilian. He is somewhere between these three worlds.

In such environments, decisions are rarely black and white. Rules exist on paper, while reality evolves faster than the procedures that try to control it. The mission becomes a constant balance between restraint and results, between procedure and survival, between what should happen and what ultimately becomes necessary to keep people alive.

The crossed-out eyes symbolize more than death or anonymity. They symbolize selective blindness: the ability to look away from certain things long enough to achieve a goal. Not because one takes pleasure in it, but because prolonged exposure to operational environments slowly changes how morality is weighed under pressure. The smile is deliberately placed. It does not stand for happiness, but for recognition.

Instead of directly depicting battles, this work captures the mental distance that arises when someone functions too long in environments where legality, necessity, and survival are no longer fully aligned.

This work was created on canvas with acrylic paint applied with a combat knife, an axe, and local newspaper from the operational environment itself. I use real operational materials to leave something of myself in the canvas and give the artwork the soul it deserves.
